congrats to the utsa women's basketball team on a great season...they had a chance to tie the game under 30 seconds to play, they lost to ut-arlington in the first round of the southland conference tournament 68-63

r-i-a: this is what i've been saying all along...the southland conference is a juco league! melvin being the freshman of the year proves that, cause, let's face it, he's still a work in progress. the fact that brooks has had 2 of the last 3 freshmen of the year proves my point that we're recruiting as good or better than any of our immediate competition...we all want to shoot for the stars but brooks has been solid and this contract extension is awesome!

I won't be able to make the Wed game in Katy due to a family emergency, so please yell like hell for me. As a side note for next year, Judkins is another wild card for what could be a surprising team.

I like it Bleed. This is why Im all about getting HS players. I dont mind a few JuCos here and there to fill the gaps; but, when you see young guys Melvin playing so well with several more years to go--not just 1 or 2-- with a few more youngsters coming up... Well, that's a solid program right there! It also helps when your coach is willing to sign a contract extension, too.

I see us showing strong tomorrow against Corpus & moving on tomorrow, but cant help sneek a peek at the future with Melvin winning SLC Freshman of the year & incoming Frosh Jordan Sims & to see the stats Jeromie Hill is putting up! This is what I was looking at when Brooks was brought on board. Let's put an exclamation point on this season & next by going dancing! Come on Runners!

RECAP/STORY LATER TODAY ON THE HEAD COACHES CONTRACT XTN'S. We were right on with Neathery interviewing and keeping our ear to the street to see if anything else happens.

My bad, that story is from KENS 5, not the Express News. I guess i'm used to most UTSA coverage coming from the EN.

About Us
The purpose of our group is to provide an environment that enables sports enthusiasts of all kinds to enjoy themselves beyond normal activities found at a normal UTSA athlectic event. We are a small, but dedicated group of individuals with ties to UTSA, although we are not directly affliated with the university. We love sports, we love UTSA, and we love having a good time. We take your average UTSA sporting event and crank it up. Barbeque, music, televisions ... all your normal tailgating activites. This is a new group that is looking to tailgate and co-mingle with anyone or other groups interested in sports and UTSA. We are sustained by the efforts of our athlectic department administrators and athletes who display an extraordinary amount of commitment and hard work, ensuring that UTSA is a positive influence in the San Antonio Community.
Money & Donations
We do not charge a fee for anyone to attend any of our tailgating parties. The more people who attend the better time we will all have and more support we can generate for
UTSA. That said we are wanting to have "pot-luck" style parties where everyone contributes small amounts. Generally our core group will provide a grill/barbeque pit, main course food to be grilled, and various beverages. Depending on schedules we will have other things like music and games on a television.

We are NOT asking for donations and will not charge a fee to attend one of our tailgate parties because 1.) its lame, and 2.) we don't party like that. Basically we are going to tailgate and have a good time at each of our events. We started this group to try to get more people involved. "The more the merrier" thought logic. However, we will be tailgating regardless of number of attendees.

In general we will always need items like beverages, ice, napkins, condiments, etc. Please see the menu section below and bring whatever you want.
If you let us know what you want to bring we will update the menu to make sure no one else brings the same.

We encourage the donation of time, supplies, food, and beverage. However, if you feel it necessary to donate money, we will have a "tailgating fund" jar at each of our parties.
